Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Associate (QAA) supports the Quality Assurance department in carrying out MHEDS’ annual quality improvement plan. This position is responsible for executing and monitoring clinical quality metrics for reporting purposes and ensuring consistent application of policies and procedures across all sites. The QAA collaborates with providers, staff, and leadership to ensure patient safety, data integrity, and operational excellence in line with MHEDS’ mission and compliance standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

Quality Assurance Implementation
  • Retrieve, collect, verify, and enter patient health data into designated clinical databases using multiple data sources including MHEDS' electric health record system (EHR).
  • Ensure completeness and integrity of patient health data records by obtaining external records as required.
  • Assist in the maintenance of a comprehensive quality program aligned with HRSA, UDS, and HIPAA standards.
  • Coordinate with office staff to track quality metrics and recommendation actions to address gaps in care.
  • Compile monthly statistical reports for review by the CQCO and Board of Directors (BOD).
  • Attend clinical quality webinars as required to monitor policy updates, data dictionary changes, and measure specifications to ensure ongoing adherence to evolving HRSA program requirements.
Coordination & Communication
  • Participate in quality improvement committee meetings, presenting site-level data and recommendations.
  • Support consistency of practices and policies across all MHEDS locations.
  • Provide on-site coaching and reinforcement of training to clinical staff related to MHEDS quality processes.

  • Adheres to safety, infection control, patient confidentiality, and related policies and procedures.

Supervisory Capacity

  • This position has no direct supervisory duties, but does require providing guidance and feedback to clinical staff including medical assistants, nurses, and providers.  

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s level or higher degree in nursing, social work, health care administration, or a related field. 
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in healthcare operations or quality.
  • Experience in community health or refugee/immigrant-serving organizations preferred. 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software, EHR Systems (eClinicalWorks preferred), and data management tools required.
Language Skills 
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English. Additional language capabilities are a plus.

Physical Demands

  • Normal medical/administrative office setting demands include lifting and carrying or delivering supplies that usually weigh less than 10 pounds, but may occasionally weigh 20-30 pounds, within the building. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have the ability to drive a private vehicle.

Work Environment

  • The office and clinical areas are well illuminated, climate controlled, indoor areas. Work involves some exposure to hazards typical to a medical office environment, including potential exposure to infectious diseases and blood borne pathogens, chemical exposures, fire, mechanical and electrical hazards. Protective clothing and equipment are provided and required to be worn in potential exposure situations.
