Maintenance Technician
Our client, Hero BX, currently has a need for an entry-level Maintenance Technician to assist in the production of biodiesel by performing scheduled & unscheduled maintenance on all equipment in order to enable maximum production rates. Safety and positive working environment are top job & company priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Perform simple maintenance tasks on plant equipment as directed to ensure maximum production rates and maintain a safe working environment.
- Confer with technical and supervisory personnel to report or resolve conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and production quality.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain plant equipment such as cooling towers, storage tanks, vessels, pumps, heat exchangers, & centrifuges to ensure that all are functioning to maximum efficiency.
- Perform & track routine preventative maintenance on all equipment.
- Operate Tele-Handler/Forklift to unload deliveries and move inventory.
- Patrol work areas to ensure proper plant operation.
- Maintain electrical equipment throughout the facility using basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Defrost frozen valves, using steam hoses.
- Maintain designated sanitary schedule.
Requirements:
Physical -- Ability to climb for access to tanks, vessels, and other equipment; ability to work in confined spaces.
Experience – 1-2 years of maintenance or related experience required. Boiler knowledge & experience preferred.
Education – Associate's Degree (2 year college or technical school) in electrical repair & maintenance preferred.
