Job Summary:
St. Luke and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parishes in Erie, PA are seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Technician to oversee and perform daily maintenance of the churches and rectories. This role ensures the upkeep, safety, and functionality of parish facilities, creating a welcoming environment for parishioners and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Operations: Plan, schedule, and execute routine maintenance tasks for the churches and rectories.
  • Facility Maintenance: Perform general maintenance duties, including repairs, cleaning, and landscaping to maintain a high standard of care.
  • Janitorial Services: Ensure that all facilities are clean, safe, and ready for use, including setting up for events and liturgical services.
  • Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance and use of tools, equipment, and janitorial supplies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with parish staff, vendors, and contractors to coordinate repairs and maintenance projects.
  • Safety Compliance: Identify and address potential safety hazards, ensuring the property complies with local safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in maintenance or a related field.
  • Ability to perform outlined tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and janitorial equipment and supplies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with staff, parishioners, and vendors.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work in varying conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a church or non-profit setting.
  • Familiarity with basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, with occasional weekend or evening work as required for special events or emergencies.
